Day 1
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am
weak, then I am strong.
Let’s start here: failure is an event -- not who you are.
It can feel that way, though. If you’ve ever failed a test, you might think that you’re not smart enough. If you tryout and don’t make the cut, it can be easy to think that it’s you. It feels like you were the reason you didn’t make the cut. But it’s people who understand that failure is an event and not who you are that go on to do something great.
Michael Jordan got cut from his high school basketball team but persevered and went on to become the greatest basketball player that ever laced them up.
Oprah got demoted as a news anchor was told that she wasn’t fit for TV, but her talk show allowed her to become one of the most influential women in the world.
They realized that they weren’t a “failure” and they kept moving. Don’t be afraid to fail. When you do, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow and become better.
