Main Point: Jesus forgives my sin!

Memorize It: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Bible Reference: John 8:1-11
Talk about It: Today we talked about something that every one of us deals with— sin! Sometimes we make mistakes even when we know better. Sometimes we choose the easier road, but it actually sends us on a much longer detour. The woman in our story made a mistake that would cost her everything, or so she thought. When these mistakes draw us away from God’s will for our life, they carry much power, much weight, a big price! In fact, the price of these mistakes, our sin, is death. A man named Jesus came to pay this price for us, so we will never have to! Talk with your kid(s) about what it means to turn away from sin and turn towards Jesus!

Act it out: Now, CovKids, make a decision to ask Jesus for forgiveness! He has already chosen to pay the price for your mistakes, to close the separation you may feel from God! He wants you to turn totally back to Him and away from that bad feeling of sin. Write down anything you may want to ask God to forgive. There is nothing Jesus doesn’t already know, and nothing that will make Him turn from you. You are chosen and loved! Once you ask for forgiveness, throw those sin papers away for good. “Go, and from now on, be free from a life of sin!”
