Day 8 | Listening to the Voice Which Matters Most.

Acts 5:27-29
The apostles were brought in and made to appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest. “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.”
Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!”

Have you ever wondered how much of who you are has been shaped by the voices in your life?  It seems that someone or something is always telling us what we can and or cannot do.  These influences range from people to the marketing tactics of companies vying for your yes.
Dress this way.
Pursue this career.
Leave them.
Cling to that… it is a constant barrage of influential information.

At what point do we decide to listen to the voice which matters most?

The disciples of Jesus found themselves being questioned by religious leaders who had influence and who were highly educated.  This must have been a very intimidating environment for them.   After all, scripture describes them as, "unschooled, ordinary men." In light of their odds, they remained true to the voice which mattered most, the voice of their heavenly Father.

"We must obey God rather than human beings!"  Peter stood with conviction as he presented his statement.  What if you lived your life following God's voice versus being persuaded by the voice of the masses?  You might be outnumbered, outclassed, and out of your league, but don't let that stop you!  Decide to live your life following the voice which matters most!

What has God spoken to your heart?
Whose voice do you need to turn down so that God’s voice can be turned up?
Which God-Dream are you ready to pursue simply because He told you to?
