We all have things we want to change. Maybe you are out of shape and in need of physical conditioning. Or perhaps things aren’t the best at work, or your home is in disorder. What do you want to change? Ask yourself, “am I dedicated to the process that change requires?â€
We often visualize “change†as a complicated system of obstacles where one hinges on the next. In an effort to outwit our obstacles, we tend to try a mental tackle and end up face down in disappointment. The overwhelming factor involved in “change†is our perception of solving the maze in advance of the first step. We don’t need to have it all figured out to master the art of changing.
The secret to overcoming something big is to get started with something small. If you want to be fit, take a walk. If you want a better job, read a new book. If you want a great marriage, go on a romantic date. If you want a loving home, hug your children. If you want more money, save a dollar, give and invest.
You don’t need all the things for change that you might think you do. Notice, there was no mention of a personal trainer, job scout, marriage counselor or lottery tickets. You are not held captive by your situation.
We can pray and cry out to God for change. But at some point, “change†will depend on your ability to move.
Exodus 14:15
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on...â€
Take the first step toward changing your life for the better by eliminating your excuses.
Never underestimate the power of simple progress! One walk, one date, one book, one hug and one dollar -be inspired by the future to change! Get started!
