Exodus 3:10
“So now, go. I am sending you …â€
There are crossroads in life when we are faced with the decision to move forward or stay where we are. We may not be living in total happiness and satisfaction, but we are afraid to lose what we do have for the unseen horizons of the future. God is calling you to a place of spiritual leadership and fulfillment that will not always be centered on your personal comfort. When we take ownership of God’s will, we are then able to count the cost of staying or going from an elevated perspective.
When God approached Moses at the burning bush and asked him to go there was much to consider. By going, Moses gave up his own life, ambitions, and dreams. But to stay, would have cost two and a half million people their freedom.
To “go†cost Paul his name and reputation as a Pharisee and leader. It cost him shipwreck, stripes, and hunger. But to stay would have been at the cost of the churches in Rome, Corinth, Galatia, Thessalonica, and Ephesus.
Jesus is our supreme example of this divine exchange. To volunteer to go, and come to us, cost Him the portals of glory. Saying yes cost Him unspeakable pain, suffering, tears, and heartache.
But to stay, would have cost Him us, His bride.
